Chef Chris Coleman of Old Time Kitchen & Cocktails
Located in the heart of Rock Hill, Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails offers modern American cuisine with a Southern twist. Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails is Rock Hill’s neighborhood destination for craft food and cocktails. The eclectic atmosphere of the restaurant takes guests on a walk down memory lane and offers a unique dining experience in the city that is both vibrant and nostalgic. Spearheaded by Carolina native Chef Chris Coleman, the “kitchen” portion of the restaurant is led by Chef de Cuisine Drew Carter who crafts seasonal menus that include a wide variety of dishes spanning from salads, sandwiches, and shareables to steaks, ‘bang bang’ brussels and irresistible warm banana pudding. With this menu of classically elevated favorites, guests are sure to find something they love that perfectly pairs with the restaurant’s creative beverage menu anchored in hand-crafted cocktails.

Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails values community, whether that is through sourcing local ingredients, spotlighting regional brands, fostering local partnerships, and bringing together the community through events, activities, and everyday celebrations. With casual outdoor patio seating, a daily happy hour with food and drink specials, and a private dining room that seats 26 guests, making it perfect for birthdays, corporate events, holiday parties, and more, the restaurant is quickly becoming a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike.
FIND YOUR FAVORITE BEVERAGE AND RAISE A GLASS
Recent guests to Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails will be delighted to see the newly revamped cocktail menu. Led by beverage director and award-winning mixologist Bob Peters, the bar menu is broad while not overwhelming. Guests can choose from familiar offerings they know and love, or they can let the knowledgeable staff lead them through the menu to discover a new favorite, whether it is wine, beer, cocktail, or mocktail. For guests ready to double down on their exploration of cocktails, Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails offers free cocktail-making classes at 6pm on the second Friday of every month. Taught by Bob Peters, these classes are open to the public but have limited spaces so guests are encouraged to arrive early to secure their spot. Each class will feature a different spirit, taking guests on a sensory journey sharing insights into the origins and distinctive flavors of each spirit, all while teaching guests the tips and tricks to recreate these blissful cocktails at home.

A NEWCOMER ON THE SCENE, ANCHORED IN YEARS OF CREATIVE EXPERIENCE
Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails opened in the summer of 2021 and is owned by Built On Hospitality, a restaurant group based in Charlotte, N.C., that was founded by Chef Coleman alongside business partners Sean Potter and A.J. Klenk. The three entrepreneurs founded Built On Hospitality based on their shared love and appreciation for great food, exceptional experiences, and passion for giving back to the community. They are dedicated to creating unique, high-quality dining experiences that showcase local ingredients and rich flavors. The group also owns The Goodyear House, located in the NoDa neighborhood of Charlotte, and has aspirations to continue expansion in the Carolinas to elevate the state’s food and beverage scene.
Chef Coleman was born and raised in the northwest corner of Charlotte's Mountain Island Lake community. He spent summers on his grandparents’ farm in Purvis, Mississippi, where he learned to appreciate the importance of local ingredients and fostering community. Chris took a job bussing tables at a local seafood restaurant at age 14 and became enthralled with the bustle and creativity of the kitchen. During his second semester in culinary school, he landed a job cooking on the line at McNinch House and was further elevated to executive chef. As is evident at Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails, he brings a rustic yet refined take on seasonal American cooking that showcases high-quality, meticulously sourced ingredients, while he continues to work with local farmers, producers, and artisans.
