Renowned Mixologist Revamps Cocktail Menu and Creates Monthly Mixology Classes at Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails

A Charlotte native and highly respected mixologist, Bob Peters is well known throughout the Southeast for his innovative palate and ability to entertain anyone who is seated at his bar. Recently named Beverage Director of Built On Hospitality, Peters quickly got to work and poured his heart into the new cocktail menu at Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails. His cocktails are clean, simple, and elegant - designed so guests can taste each specific flavor.
Prior to joining Built On Hospitality, Peters oversaw the beverage programs for The Punch Room and the Ritz Carlton of Charlotte, where he won numerous awards including the 2015 Global Bartender of the Year for The Ritz-Carlton Corporation. Peters has also been a featured mixologist at the James Beard House in New York City, Charleston Wine & Food, Atlanta Food & Wine Festival, and the Cayman Cookout hosted by Eric Ripert, José Andrés, and Anthony Bourdain.
New Cocktail Menu at Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails
Peters was excited to make his mark on the Built On Hospitality cocktail program, and he immediately added five signature cocktails to the OTK&C summer cocktail menu. Some current seasonal favorites that are sure to quench your thirst this summer include:
- Strawberry Dreams - Deep Eddy's vodka, Lillet rouge, homemade strawberry syrup, lemon
- You Wanna Peach Of Me? - Jim Beam, homemade peach tea syrup, orange, lemon, soda
- Basil Roads - 704 gin, Domaine de Canton ginger liqueur, Dolin vermouth blanc, basil syrup, lemon
- The Miracle of Mint and Melon - El Jimador tequila blanco, fresh watermelon, mint syrup, lime
- Apricot in a Pinch - Four Roses bourbon, apricot liqueur, punt e mes
In his role as Beverage Director, Peters will continue curating delicious cocktail menus for each season and is already working on the Fall menu for guests to enjoy as cooler weather makes its way to the Carolinas.

Another addition to the Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails beverage program is their FREE monthly cocktail-making class led by master mixologist Bob Peters himself! These classes are open to the public and take place on the second Friday of every month at 6 p.m. Guests are invited to expand their knowledge and elevate their mixology skills with an hour of spirited exploration and delicious libations. Each class will feature a unique selection of spirits as Peters guides guests through a sensory journey, sharing insights into the origins, flavors, and distinctive qualities of each spirit.
From smooth whiskeys to vibrant gins and beyond, join Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails to learn the tips, tricks, and techniques behind each drink, empowering you to recreate these masterful concoctions in the comfort of your own home.
Due to the intimate setting of the cocktail classes, spots are limited. Be sure to secure your place by arriving early – class will start at 6 p.m. sharp! Select classes will also feature paired bites by Chef Drew Carter, chef de cuisine of Old Town Kitchen & Cocktails.
